About Joey Lopez

Director and Editor

I’m a mixed-race director based out of Vancouver, BC. I have been directing shorts and music videos since the end of 2017 for local and national artists including Kimmortal, BBNO$, So Loki, Devours, IMUR, Yung Heazy, Yung Bae and Anklegod. I attended VFS for Writing for Film & Television in 2015 and began teaching myself how to make films in 2016. I made the transition to music videos when I was introduced to the local music scene and fell in love with the music scene. I jumped in and offered my services as a way to strengthen my skills, experiment and to give local artist a bit of a weirder image. Outside of music videos I have also written for BeatRoute Magazine and VICE with a focus on local artists.
